Game Night

The past few weeks I have been making an effort to play a game with the children every single day. This works out well because I love to play games (always have) and it’s definitely quality time.

  Here are our favorite games:

Psi Run
Set
Settlers of Catan
Magic: The Gathering
Clue
Scrabble
Scotland Yard
Uno
Risk: Godstorm
Apples To Apples
Princess
German Wooden Ladybug Race (for baby – I bought this 20 years ago…..)
Cadoo
Beyblades
Game of Thrones (OK, actually just me.)

What games did we miss? What are your family favorites?

  1. Great way to get together as a family! I am a bad game player. I used to love it; it was a favorite neighborhood alternative to touch football and playing on swingsets in the summer. Kids would gather on the sidewalk to play Monopoly (because our mothers would NEVER let us play in the house, are you kidding?)
Our family loves Catan and Monopoly, (but having babies knock over the whole board more than once a session kinda wrecked the fun), the Tilting Moon game (for toddlers), and a French story game. On my wish list: Huggermugger, check it out, it's fun and gorgeous.
Thanks for your post, I will make a point of playing more games all together!

  2. We love Zar, Fluxx, Apples to Apples, and Pope Joan. Pope Joan is several hundred years old, but still very exciting to play. Zar and Fluxx are fast-moving card games, so not the best for very young kids.

  3. My kids are a bit younger than yours, but we love Uno, Memory, Chutes & Ladders, Candyland, Operation, and more Memory. 🙂 We've also been playing more games this week. Fun!
